Good but not as great.
I'm not as fond of this cd as the others I have by Clay but I am definitely a Clay Aiken fan so I will like most anything he does.

Simply the best
With this album, Clay Aiken steps outside of the ballad, glory note box which some people seem to think is all he can do. There's nothing wrong with ballads or glory notes, and Clay can certainly deliver both better than most, but he is capable of so much more than just that and this album proves it.

Tracks like "Ashes" & "Falling" prove that Clay can rock with the best of them; the jazzy "Everything I Don't Need" showcases his ability to interpret the shades and nuances of a song.

Make no mistake, the ballads are there too. "Something About You" is smooth and romantic and beautiful and feels like an homage to the wonderful ballads done by artists like Nat King Cole and that's a very good thing ... and no, I'm not that old. I fully expect that it will become one of those 'standards' that will be heard at weddings for years to come ... again, a very good thing.

Clay's interpretation of other songs like "As Long as We're Here" and "Grace of God" not only showcase his incredible range, but also encourage us to step outside of our own comfort zone and make a difference in someone else's life. I don't know anyone who won't be able to relate to "Sacrificial Love". Haven't we all wondered in at least one relationship whether we are, quoting a line from the song, 'taking up space, until you find yourself that perfect face'?

Then of course there is "Lover All Alone", a song whose lyrics were written by Clay. This song is amazing; it is haunting and bittersweet and the use of the cello, blended with Clay's voice, gives me goosebumps every time.

The rest of the songs on this album are just as good as those I've mentioned, so good in fact that even after many listens, I still cannot choose a favorite song because I love them all. That may just be the best example of all of exactly how well this album was crafted, of how much work and care and love went into it's making. But perhaps best of all, for me anyway, it is a wonderful example of how much Clay has grown as an artist over the last 5+ years, and even better yet, perhaps a glimpse of just how much we have to look forward to from this remarkable entertainer in the future.

Do yourself a favor, buy this album!

Best Album This Year
Best album for Clay, real mix of top notch music and beautiful voice. Most albums today I don't care for because the voices sound double and triple. I can't hear a really clear beautiful vocal like you can on his album. Slow or uptempo it doesn't matter. Great vocals and you can even understand the words. WOW! Love Ashes,Falling and As Long As We're Here.Actually its hard to pick a favorite.

Beyond Excellent
I have enjoyed this CD so much. This is the best yet of Clay Aiken. His musical stylings on this CD touch many genres. The meaning of the songs to him and to the listener, makes this album a personal masterpiece for Clay. I recommend this CD to everyone who enjoys listening to really good music.

Something new
A good CD for any Clay Aiken fan. The songs are similar to his first CD, but a bit more edgy. A nice relaxing mix with songs that will have you singing along in no time.
