This is a good record, nicely arranged. Some of the songs will be understood and appreciated better if you previously watched the film Once.

I loved this movie and the music. There's no sex, drugs or violence. Its just simply an example of a loving and supportive relationship. Very gentle, respectful and creative. The music is hauntingly beautiful. I dreamed this music two nights in a row and had to buy the download because I couldn't wait for it to come in the mail.

Gentle, loving, and hauntingly beautiful, and ultimately a bit sad. But absolutely worth it!

Soundtrack from the 2007 indie film of the same name. Music won the Oscar for music written for a movie. Hansard and Irglova wrote the music and were the leads. Music and story hang together well. Real people in real situations with no Hollywood ending. Hansard is the lead vocal for the Frames. Irglova from Czech Republic is classically trained in music. Their voices blend well and complement one another. Hansard's guitar leads with piano highlights in most numbers. The music stands on its own. 'Falling Slowly' is dynamite. 'Lies' is clever and angry. 'If You Want Me' is seductive. Mostly smooth listening.

Once is a fantastic CD. I bought it shortly after watching the movie and had it in my CD player for 2 weeks straight. It's a great listen that you can just leave on in the background. If you like acoustic music, you need to own this CD
