a must have for any music collection
If you buy only one Journey album this one is it. It contains the biggest and best Journey hits with the wonderful voice of Steve Perry - the best rock vocalist of all time. A great trip down memory lane if you were alive during the late 70s, early 80s, and if you're born after that, you should get this album to hear one of the most original, accomplished classic rock bands. Journey is an American classic.

Takes Me Back
Here I go again......back to my younger days. A great CD to reminisce and remember those wonderful days when you were free and single! I highly recommend getting it, you won't be disappointed.

What is wrong with people?
It seems that people (by people I mean College age kids, sorry) seem to only like this music because today's popular taste is backwards. People like "the office" because its awkward. people like Will Farrell because he's "stupid." People like the 80's again because their glitzy, lame and tacky. Anytime I hear "don't stop believin'" all I can think of is a bunch of drunk frat boy yuppies and their girlfriends in their big belts and sack dresses, yelling and screaming tone deaf lyrics in a drunken crowded stupor. Anyone who says Journey is their favorite band and is under 25 is a liar. I guarantee that any one in this age group only has the "hot singles" and 80's greatest hits albums. This is ridiculous.

a journey through your mind
Journey is one of those bands where their hit songs ARE, in fact, the best selections from the band (excluding the debut which is totally awesome). Maybe I'm bias because I have a childhood connection to the popular music from the early 80's, or maybe these are just really nice, well-performed songs.

"Wheel in the Sky" is probably my favorite song. It gives me hope, and God knows I need it after last weeks major fight I got into. "Faithfully" is really a touching song, isn't it? I love that one too. "Open Arms" is the reason I wanted this disc in the first place. It's one of the nicest-written songs of all-time. Well, maybe not. There's a lot of music out there. Let's not jump to conclusions here.

"Don't Stop Believin'" is now remembered for being the final song that played during the final segment of the popular TV show the Sopranos. Yeah, I didn't like the ending either, but the song was nice and fitting. It's amazing how heavy "Separate Ways" sounds to this very day. Back in the day it sounded like a regular pop song with a loud chorus. But now, father time has shown us just how unbelievably loud it really is.

Overall, good music, good memories, and good times.

Great album
Those of us of a certain age remember all of these great songs. What certain age, you may ask? Well, when the lead singer breaks his hip, that's an indication that his fans may be closer to the same than they want to think. And these songs bring back a lot of memories. Sure, some of those memories are of the time you asked this girl to prom, even though you'd have to drive your dad's Oldsmobile Omega, but she decided she'd rather stay home than go with you, but you still remember that "Open Arms" was the official theme of the prom you didn't go to. But now we're old enough not to be bitter whenever we hear that song. Right?

This album has just enough Journey, and includes all the hits without leaving any out or adding a lot of material from obscure sources that the casual fan may not have much interest in. If you're a hardcore Journey fan, buy all of the CDs; if you just like the music and you're having some 80s nostalgia, just buy this CD instead. It's full of great songs and it's a lot of fun.
