Portrait of a Legend 1951-1964

This album really hooked me on the awesome talent of Sam Cooke! I had listened over the years to Sam's many hits on the radio. I tried this album to catch some of my favorites. Wow, what a revelation! it is now one of my top three favorite CDs. I can't recommend it more.

Even though Sam Cooke has been gone for so many years, time has not diminished the quality and genius of his music. The songs still have
the same meaning as they did back in the day. The world lost him much too soon, but his music lingers on and entertains many of the younger generations. This CD is the best of the best!!

I am completely in love with this man and his voice, second only to Otis Redding. If I could listen to nothing else, that would be just fine with me. I was surprised to hear some songs I had either forgotten about or never heard before. Chock-full of goody after goody. I can't get enough.

This CD includes all of Sam Cooke's hits as a solo artist after leaving The Soul Stirrers. I love this CD.

If you are a Sam Cooke fan, this is a must have. I personally enjoy singing along to every cut on the CD.
