Out of Body Experience
This album is completely different in character from all Groover Washington's other offerings particulary of the 70s. Although his saxophone style can still be recongnised, I would have sworn is was done by another artist. Maybe it was the influence of Bill Withers on the production. By it showed a different side to Groover, a kind of finesse in its finishing. That is why I think it might have been "an out of body experience for him"
Nevertheless a great work.

Grover, You're The Best!
I have always been a huge fan of Mr. Grover Washington Jr.'s music. He paved the way for all Smooth Jazz Artists of our generations with his soulful smooth saxophone delights. His tone was unique and undeniable. All musicians need to study this legend. Winelight is a classic piece. "Mr. Magic" is still relevant today. That's an incredible feat.

Winelight CD
After looking all over town in local retails for this particular CD I came to Amazon and found it. The CD arrived in a timely fashion, and it has been listened to often.
The CD was a gift to my husband who loves light jazz. He and I have been listening to it frequently, it's a great CD with a good mix of instrumental and vocals. I would recommend it if you are a fan of jazz.

THE "new-age" sax man
I've always said Grover Washington Jr could teach Kenny G how to play sax. He's smooth and mellow; never pushing his instrument but making his presence known, you know what I mean? This is an easy pop-jazz album; not ordinarily my favorite kind of jazz, but an absolute standard nonetheless. You'll hear Bill Withers (remember him?) singing on the only track with words, "Just the Two of Us". Good background music for that romantic dinner, even after 25 years. 2006-01-29

Taking smooth/contemporary jazz 2 the next level
I love this record to death ever since I heard it. It's kinda like the 1st ones I got introduced by Grover when I was little kid maybe 5, 6 or something. I'm not sure. But anyway this is surely my favorite album I grew up around my interest in jazz. It shows a new way where Grover is heading to the future and taking it into a new direction until the day of his demise. He's such a genius. I wish he was here which I said all the time. Grover we miss you and wish u were here. I luv every song that's tight incl. the #1 slow jam which won a Grammy 4 it in 1981 "Just the Two of Us" w/ Bill Withers.
Every must-have lover who is a devotee to smooth jazz, contemporary R&B or jazz perhaps, gotta have this if u're lovin this man or is looking 4 some good music. This was a treat since Boney James, Rick Braun, Chris Botti, Dave Koz, Kenny G, Chuck Mangione, The Crusaders, Candy Dulfer, Norman Brown, Paul Brown, Chris Standring, Ronny Jordan, Keiko Matsui, the late Art Porter, the late George Howard, Regina Belle, George Duke, Brian Culbertson, Vanessa Williams, among others took off where Grover left off from this album.
